【尖晶石简介】
尖晶石属于一种铝镁氧化物，其主要成分为氧化铝和氧化镁。铝镁尖晶石有天然形成和人工合成两种，其化学式为MgAL2O4或者Mgo•AL2O3。尖晶石理论含量为：MgO=28.3%M，AL2O3=71.7%。天然镁砂尖晶石极少发现，工业上应用的铝镁尖晶石全部都是人工合成的。合成铝镁尖晶石的两个主要方法是烧结法和电熔法。多数尖晶石材料是由高纯合成氧化铝和化学级氧化镁制成，即在竖窑烧结和在电弧炉内电熔。

烧结尖晶石的优势是该工艺是一个连续的陶瓷化过程，控制窑中给料速度和均衡的温度分布，产生非常均匀的晶体尺寸为30-80μm及低气孔率(<3％)的产品。
电熔法生产尖晶石是有代表性的间歇操作，大浇注块需要延长冷却时间，浇注块的冷却导致显微结构的不均匀，由于冷却较快，外部的尖晶石晶体比里面的小，低熔点杂质集中在中心处，因此，需要对电熔尖晶石原料进行分选均化。

【尖晶石用途】
烧结铝镁尖晶石用于水泥回转窑，不但避免了铬公害，而且具有良好的抗剥落性。烧结铝镁尖晶石用于制作刚包浇注料，大大提高刚板衬的抗侵蚀能力，使烧结铝镁尖晶石广泛应用于炼刚用耐火材料。优质预合成尖晶石的制取为不定形及定形高纯耐火材料的生产提供了新的原料。
电熔铝镁尖晶石是制造滑板、水口砖、平炉炉砖的理想材料。铝镁尖晶石制品的高温力学性能良好，是大型水泥窑中性水泥窑过滤带、耐火浇注料、高中窑具的基本原料。电熔铝镁尖晶石用于刚铁冶炼、玻璃工业窑炉。
